GEMINI: Master Project – Summer Semester 2022

In this year’s mater project aims to support our effort to recover the architecture of Earth System Models (ESMs) and improve their modularization to facilitate their modernization that allows to interact with simulation at runtime and in a microservice fashion.

The project builds on previous work in analyzing the architecture using static code analysis and runtime observations utilizing the Kieker monitoring framework.

Active Goals

  • Add and evaluate different optimization algorithms for software architectures
  • Generate adaptation plans for existing architectures to potential future architectures to support user decisions.
